Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
